“ Absolutely a great deal for the quality and price! It is hard to find their lunch specials online but you can find pics attached or in-person. They did a very good job on packaging, all dishes (minus the tempera which is deep-fried) were saran-wrapped underneath the packaging for cleanliness/freshness and the napkins even had a cute bell attached (probably from leftover Christmas decorations but still a nice touch). Most lunch specials here come with miso soup and salad for the price which is better than I can say for most other places. Definitely a hidden gem during covid! Note: I believe this place had been run by a different owner before 2019 but still has old reviews. All I can say is I have been here numerous times over the past year and I have never been disappointed, and I'm glad I did not have to experience the place under the previous ownership. ”

“ Humble and unassuming - this is my go to Japanese restaurant in Calgary. Decent price, good quality ingredients and friendly staff and chef. I come here at least once a week either lunch or dinner and I am happy each visit. Lunch combos are well priced and satisfying. Tempura + chicken + miso + roll , better than other lunch meals out there During dinner, the sushi and sashimi combo is plenty and delicious. My husband likes the ramen and find the broth to be flavourful. He has tried at least 3 kinds of ramen they serve. The rice combos are very good with a lot of variety. Age dashi tofu is perfect, not starchy. The beef kushiage is my favorite - tender with great flavour. The service could be slow some times (during dinner) but only when slammed with both take out and dine in. There's usually only 2-3 staff (including chef) so I can understand. I would say this is in the same price range as tokyo street or ikusa and some small local japanese restaurants. However, I find the quality of Arashi much better than the other restaurants I mentioned. ”

“ The food was delicious, i ordered their mango roll, warrior roll, ocean roll, takoyaki, shrimp tempura and some sushi. It's worth the price you pay for. the service is also good too. the atmosphere of the place is spacious and comfy. So i would recommend going there. ”

“ Located in Royal Oak, this Japanese restaurant has a variety of dishes to choose from. Don (rice), ramen, sushi , sashimi, shabu shabu, yakitori, tempura. The restaurant heavily advertises the meat they use is from a certain farm, so we tried their cooked items instead of sushi. The meat did not disappoint, but not to the point that I could tell if they didn't advertise. I really enjoyed my beef don with raw egg but my wife's ramen was nothing to write home about. The soup was real average in view of all the Japanese noodle houses around town. Beef tataki was impressive and so were the yakitori. The service was a bit on the slow side. We finished most of the food but the ramen took considerably longer to arrive. I will definitely return again as it got me curious about its sushi and shabu shabu. ”

“ BEEF AND CHICKEN HALAL Came in right when restaurant opened. We sat down as a group I ordered a Dragon roll and cheese waygu. DRAGON ROLL WAS AMAZING CHEESE WAYGU WAS FANTASTIC Very nice staff ”

“ Halal Wagyu Food from Brentlake Meats Awesome service with courtesy and care. Great Ambience. We went fir the lunch. The server ws courteous for whole time. This restaurant sells Brentlake Wagyu which is Halal food. Server knew well to not to serve non-halal food to us and proved Ed good recommendations. ”

“ I recently visited Arashi and had a fantastic time! Their service was excellent - the server was friendly and attentive throughout my meal. The server made sure I was okay with the addition of raw egg in the suta-pork rice dish upon ordering. But the real standout was the yakitori - the skewers were cooked to perfection and the flavors were absolutely delicious. The wagyu beef skewers and the wagyu aburi were incredibly tender and flavorful - they were rich and practically melted in my mouth! The amount of flavor was just right - not too much, not too little - so I could really taste the umami flavor of the meat. We also tried the suta-don (Kurobuta pork belly on rice) and the Katsu-Don (Japanese Pork Cutlet and Egg Rice Bowl), both of which were delicious. The Kurobuta pork belly, which are carefully raised and shipped directly from a farm near Edmonton, had a unique sweetness in the fresh quality of meat. Arashi offers excellent value for money compared to other restaurants with similar offerings. We've had sushi in our previous visit, and they were fresh and well-crafted. Overall, everything we tried was very delicious and they offer high-quality food with a good portion at a reasonable price. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting, with Japanese maneki-neko (beckoning cat) and cute kids hair accessories on display at the storefront which is also available for sale. The crew behind the open counter is clearly skilled and passionate about their work. They genuinely and warmly greeted us goodbye as we left. It's always reassuring to know that the people preparing your food take pride in their work and care about their customers. I am excited to go back and try more! I would highly recommend Arashi to anyone looking for a great yakitori experience! ”
